Prof Moorad Choudhry, UK Bank Non Executive Director (Chartered FCISI)
Moorad lectures on the MSc Finance programme at University of Kent Business School.He is a Board Non Executive Director and Visiting Professor at the University of Kent, where he developed and teaches the Bank Risk Management and ALM course for the MSc programme in Finance and Banking, a core module in the MSc Finance programme.
Moorad has 28 years experience as a banker with executive leadership experience in Commercial Banking, Investment Banking and Retail Banking. He was previously Treasurer, Corporate Banking Division at Royal Bank of Scotland, Head of Treasury at Europe Arab Bank, Head of Treasury at KBC Financial Products and a Vice President in structured finance at JPMorgan Chase Bank. He is a Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and Finance, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
Moorad is an expert on bank oversight, strategy, governance, risk management, Treasury asset-liability management (ALM), liquidity risk management, balance sheet risk and capital management, structured finance and securitisation. He has also managed front-office business lines at different banks with sustained profitable P&L track record.
He is experienced in front-line presentation and leading investor road shows, and is an industry thought leader representing employing banks at regulators and a frequent presenter / Chair at trade associations. His published books include ‘The Principles of Banking’, ‘Bank Asset and Liability Management’, and ‘Analysing and Interpreting the Yield Curve’.
