Dr Cecilia Wells, Management Consultant and Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol, AFBPS)
Cecilia has worked extensively with employers in the private, voluntary and public sectors for over 20 years, and was co-owner and Director of Astar Management Consultants between 1999 to 2011. She specialises in helping clients to enhance business performance through better use of their people. She is experienced in delivering Human Resources consultancy at both strategic and operational levels; including policy development and implementation, leadership development, training needs analysis, training design and delivery. Her other work experience includes nine years in Human Resource Management with the former British Leyland, and seven years with Manpower plc, working as a Branch Manager then as Head of Management Development for the UK. Her public appointments have included working as an arbitrator, council member and acting Chair of the Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service; various nonexecutive board memberships, including the Office of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman; sitting on the Employee Relations Advisory Panel; and Commissioner of the Equal Opportunities Commission. Cecilia is a qualified teacher, a business studies graduate, a Chartered Psychologist (with PhD in Psychology) and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She has a Diploma in the advanced applications of Personal Construct Psychology in organisational development and change, and is a qualified assessor in psychometric tests. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). She was awarded an O.B.E. in 1996 for work in equality.
